The Lifelines Project

Missy Stein

advertisement

NBC10's Lifelines project follows the stories of people in our community as they take on incredible challenges, adventures and life-changing risks.

The stories are self-told for the most part.

What's Up With Missy is the story that launched our Lifelines project in June of 2010. Missy Stein is a local radio host on AM 1340 WHAT. Eight years ago, she survived breast cancer. In the Spring of 2010, she felt something no one else, not even the doctors could feel. Tests confirmed cancer, but her doctors told Missy she would not die from this because she caught it early. She shares her story to empower other women to know their own bodies and to advocate for their own health care. She also wants to demystify the process of radiation.
