Swine Flu Shuts Down Bishop Shanahan

Classes were canceled Monday at Bishop Shanahan High School in Downingtown due to an outbreak of (H1N1) swine flu.
There were five confirmed swine flu cases, according to school officials. Workers spent most of the weekend cleaning and sanitizing the school to help prevent the spread of the flu.
Almost 400 students called out sick on Friday. Nurses administered seasonal flu vaccines to about 315 students. Workers from the Chester County Health Department said they will administer the vaccine to any student who was absent.
Events at the school were canceled over the weekend. Classes were set to resume Tuesday.
Archbishop Carroll High School in Radnor canceled classes two days of school last week after they had 10 confirmed cases of swine flu. School officials said students are scheduled to return to class on Monday.
