The swine flu has claimed the life of a 19-year-old woman from Montgomery County, Pa.

The Montgomery County Health Department says the woman had underlying medical conditions and swine flu was a contributing factor to her death. The death announced Wednesday was the first swine flu related death in Montgomery County.

Unfortunately, more swine flu related deaths in the county will probably occur.

In addition to the one death in Montgomery County, there are three in Philadelphia and one each in Berks and Pike counties.

The Center of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that 170 people nationally have died from the swine flue, six of them from Pennsylvania.

The CDC has also reported that there has been 33,902 cases of the disease with 1,748 of them being in Pennsylvania.

Those with underlying medical conditions are in danger more than those who are healthy.

Symptoms include fever, cough and sore throat. Some may also suffer from chills, headache, fatigue, diarrhea, vomiting, and shortness of breath.

If you suffer from any of these symptoms see your local physician right away.
