Philly Student Tests Positive for TB

Teen being treated at hospital, no other cases found, officials say

A Philadelphia high school student was found to have tuberculosis.

The unidentified Frankford High School student tested positive for the bacterial infection after checking into a city hospital, officials say.

The hospital notified the Philadelphia Health Department who then made the school district aware.

Officials say students and staff who've shared a classroom with the teen are being tested as a precaution, but no additional cases have been found.

The district also sent a letter to the entire school community notifying them of the case.
