CHOP Plans to Fight Possible Ebola Outbreak

With two U.S. health-care workers contracting the Ebola virus at a Dallas hospital, federal health officials are urging all medical centers to review procedures for treating infected patients.

Tuesday afternoon, at Pennsylvania Bio’s Life Sciences Future symposium in Center City, an expert in infectious diseases at one Philadelphia hospital outlined what her medical center is doing to protect patients and staff.

Dr. Julia S. Sammons, medical director of the department of infection prevention and control at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, said the public's lack of understanding about Ebola is resulting in a lot misconceptions. Read full story on PBJ.com
