Eagleville Hospital, in a partnership with the Montgomery County Department of Human Services, has opened Arcadia House — an evidence-based treatment program for young men battling opioid and heroin addiction.
Montgomery County provided a $600,000 reinvestment grant for the facility, which is designed for men ages 18 to 26. The grant was used for construction costs.
Eagleville will provide staffing and cover operation costs. Eagleville is targeting that demographic because Pennsylvania leads the nation in drug overdoses among young adults in that age group, and ranks ninth in the country for drug overdoses among the general population.
Arcadia House is situated in a modular unit on the hospital’s 43 acre campus. The 16-bed program will allow Eagleville to serve an estimated 200 – 300 individuals over the course of one year.
