Classes, Activities Resume at College

Officials at the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown say classes and activities were to resume Monday after facilities were shut down and cleaned because several students reported an illness that's believed to be an airborne norovirus.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health has cleared the school about 60 miles to reopen.

The school had released a statement Saturday cancelling all indoor social events for the weekend, including cafeteria services at all dining facilities.

The school also closed its Wellness Center and did additional building cleaning so classes and other activities could resume.

The school says the ill students were complaining of fever, chills, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Students with those symptoms were being asked to isolate themselves for three days.
