Be a 10 in 10 Weeks: The Finale

10 weeks, four people and one kick-your-butt boot camp

It's been a grueling ten weeks for four Philadelphians looking to shape up as part of our Be a 10 in 10 Weeks fitness challenge.

Lots of running, jumping, grunting, yelling and even a few aches and pains has transformed them into healthier and happier people.

So as the competition comes to a close the former boot campers met up with trainer Gavin McKay to celebrate their accomplishments. Over low-cal drinks and snacks, the quad reminisced about the long road they have traveled.

"A little bit of ibuprofen, a little bit of ice," was how model and interior designer Joe Matthews worked through the pain. And he probably needed it since he hit the gym 69 times over the course of the competition -- more than any other challenger.

Joe's goal was to revive his modeling career and he was able to accomplish that halfway through the challenge. In the end, Joe stripped 3.5 inches from his waist and dropped 8 lbs. resulting in a body fat reduction of 2.6 percent.

Public relations guru Megan Smith had a goal of losing 25 lbs. in order to live a healthier life. That goal became ever more important after she received some eye-opening news from her doctor.

"I have diabetes," she said. "The timing is like crazy to me, because as soon as I get diagnosed, I was right in the middle of a boot camp that's assisting me with my nutrition and my fitness."

Megan wasn't able to meet her goal, but she almost made it halfway there – and that's a start. She dropped 11 lbs. over 10 weeks, completing 58 workouts and shedding 2 inches from her waist.

For Q102 DJ Nicole Michalik, the Be a 10 challenge was her third tour of duty on a fitness program. She dropped an astounding 100 lbs. on the NBC reality show The Biggest Loser, and then lost another 40 lbs. on her own. This time around she wanted to tone up and lose the last 20 lbs.

"I look better than I've ever looked," Nicole exclaimed. She cut two percent body fat from her person, stripped 3 inches from her waist and dropped 11.5 lbs. after completing 51 workouts. But she's still not satisfied. The 20-something plans to quietly celebrate as she works towards her goal.

Blogger and Philly paparazzo Hughe Dillon admits he was worried about the boot camp saying he didn't think he could be considered a ten. But that all dissipated after he saw the big losses. "The truth is, at 280 going this direction, I do feel like a ten," he said.

And he should having lost more weight than any of the contestants. Hughe shed 17 lbs. over 47 workouts resulting in a two percent drop in body fat. His original goal was to lose 50-80 lbs., which could never be achieved in 10 weeks. However, it's a lofty ambition he is well on the way to meeting.

"These people have put their hearts on the line and really changed their lives," said a proud Gavin.

Our four challengers weren't the only ones taking part in the boot camp. Several other Fusion Fitness members followed the same routine in order to better their lives.

One such camper, Chip Capelli, blew past everyone with amazing losses. Chip dropped an impressive 35 lbs. resulting in the loss of six percent body fat and four inches from his waist.
