8 More Swine Flu Deaths

Six deaths in New Jersey, two in Philadelphia

Eight more people have died of the swine flu in our area. Two victims are from Philadelphia and six from New Jersey.

The Philadelphia victims are a man and a woman who the city's health department described as middle-aged, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. Both had underlying medical conditions. A total of five people have now died in Pennsylvania from the swine flu.

Six people have died in New Jersey.

The state Health and Senior Services Department says the latest victim is a woman in her 40s from Bergen County. She also had underlying health conditions.

The five others in New Jersey who have died from the H1N1 virus include a 79-year-old Hudson County woman, a 36-year-old Union County man, a 15-year-old Somerset County boy, a 10-year-old Sussex County boy and a 49-year-old northern New Jersey man.

There are 609 confirmed cases of swine flu in every New Jersey county but Salem and Cape May.
