Jon & Kate Mom: “Hesitant to Believe” Rumors

Doubts talk of hubby's cheating ways

Reality TV mom Kate Gosselin said she doubts rumors of her husband's infidelity -- calling the allegations that the father of eight stepped out on her hurtful and potentially damaging to their children.

"I'm very hesitant to believe any of it," she said on the "Today" show. "It goes with the territory. We're dealing with it just like everybody else does."

Kate, who appeared sans hubby on the morning show, brushed off the rumors as simple tabloid fodder, but she's worried about how it will affect her eight young kids.

"I'm not going to sit here and say I enjoy it. I tend to be very thick-skinned," she said. "It's hurtful for the sake of my children looking through their eyes seeing the things that are out there is absolutely not a bit enjoyable."

Hubby Jon Gosselin, 32, denied rumors that he's cheating on Kate with 23-year-old third-grade teacher Deanna Hummel, whom he reportedly met at a Pennsylvania bar and has been smitten with ever since.

"These allegations are false and just plain hurtful," Jon said in a statement to People magazine on Wednesday. "But the bottom line is, I did not cheat on Kate."

The brother of the other woman came forward yesterday and said the two were in fact having an illicit affair -- and getting it on like teenagers.

"No one wants to hear his sister having sex, let alone with a married dude who's, like, almost twice her age and who has eight kids and a maybe-crazy wife," the woman's brother, Jason, told Usmagazine.com

The hubby and wife duo star in the reality show "Jon & Kate Plus 8" on TLC.
