The candidates in Pennsylvania's hotly contested race for U.S. Senate will be campaigning in the heavily populated swing counties around Philadelphia.
Republican Pat Toomey and Democrat Joe Sestak will be making their pitch Monday with business owners and others as they seek an edge in the southeast.
Recent polls have shown a tightening race.
The Morning Call/Muhlenberg Daily Tracking Poll on Monday showed Sestak within three points of Toomey.
Nine days are left until the Nov. 2 election and both men are beginning a sprint during which they'll be appearing at multiple events daily around the state.
They are vying to replace five-term Sen. Arlen Specter, whom Sestak beat in the Democratic primary.
The counties that surround Philadelphia are home to many independent voters who have played a decisive role in elections in the swing state of Pennsylvania.
