Yuengling Sued by Graphic Designer

A New Jersey graphic designer says he hasn't been paid for work he did for the Pennsylvania brewer

A graphic designer is suing D.G. Yuengling & Son, claiming the Pennsylvania brewer is using one of his label designs for its Oktoberfest beer without payment.

The suit filed by Adam D'Addario claims the Pottsville-based brewer is using a slightly modified version of a design he offered them in 2010 to promote its seasonal brew.

D'Addario, of Voorhees, N.J., says Yuengling, which bills itself America's oldest brewery, has refused to pay him. Exhibits attached to the suit show a tap handle logo similar to the design he made, including coloring and font.

D'Addario tells The Morning Call of Allentown he's done design work for several Yuengling products but the company cut ties with him after hiring in-house staff.

The brewer did not immediately return a phone message Thursday.
