Studies show that on average, the class of 2010 students graduated owing $23,000 for the cost of their college educations.
Amanda Ranochak graduated from Johnson and Wales University with an Associates Degree and more than $40,000 of student loan debt.
"I have no clue how I''m going to come up with that money. And that's just this lender. I have two others I have to take care of," Ranochak said. "I'm very fortunate to have a job in this economy, but that job just won't cover this. I get paid bi-weekly, so I get about $300 to $400 every two week."
Some analysts say that's the underlying issue, that good-paying jobs are in short supply.
"I need to survive. I need food. I need clothing. I need transportation," said Ranochak who feels like she's forced to choose between paying to live or paying the loans.
"I'm 25-years-old. I shouldn't have to be worrying about being buried in debt. I don't own credit cards. I pay my bills on time. But this is ridiculous! Absolutely ridiculous!"
