A nine-block, nine-hour event took place on South Street, which organizers say was one of the neighborhood’s largest events.
The South Street Spring Festival on Saturday attracted a record number of more than 55,000 people, making it the largest single event on South Street in more than two decades, according to spokesman Kory Aversa.
The festival attracted about 40,000 people last year, a 60 percent increase from 2013.
