Drivers Get Pumped Dry Just in Time for Memorial Day

The pain at the pump is back just in time for Memorial Day weekend.

Gas prices soared in the Philadelphia over the past couple days. A gallon of regular gasoline in the city was up seven cents on average to $2.35 since last week, according to AAA.

Gas prices jumped about six to seven cents all over the area from Allentown, Pa. to the Jersey Shore, according to AAA's Fuel Gauge Report.

Gas traditionally goes up around Memorial Day, but this year the problem is even worse because of Sunday's refinery fire. We still aren't getting as pumped dry at the gas station this year as we were last year when gas cost about $3.83 for regular, according to AAA.

More Americans should hit the roads this Memorial Day Weekend than did last year despite the rising price of fuel, according to experts.

Here is a list of the lowest gas prices in the Philadelphia area.
