Boathouse Row Gets Wi-Fi With Help From Comcast

Signs of decades past mark a nearly 150-year-old Philadelphia boathouse, where rowers pass a working payphone. But the historic Boathouse Row building recently joined the modern world when it teamed up with Comcast to bring wireless internet to the banks of the Schuylkill River.

“No one came out and said we have a group of Internet users here,” said Bill Shea, the president of Crescent Club. “And the carrier community didn’t recognize the opportunity." Read more about the WiFi hotspots here.
