Twenty-two miles of local interstate highways are now poised for repair.
PennDOT announced last night it will begin resurfacing some portions of streets in the city starting July 6. Each street should take about two weeks to renovate.
Kelly Drive, Christopher Columbus Boulevard and Frankford Avenue are just a few of the busy stretches of pavement that PennDOT will tackle in this project.
The Philadelphia Streets Department is also busy improving Philadelphia's roads. The state's roads received a D-minus grade from the American Society of Civil Engineers' 2014 report card. Philadelphia commuters spend an average of 48 hours per year in traffic.
