Ridesharing services are a step closer to legalization in Philadelphia, the only county in Pennsylvania they're currently not legally permitted to operate in.
Sen. Camera Bartolotta on Thursday announced legislation that would establish a regulatory framework for the operation of transportation network companies like Uber, UberX and Lyft in the state.
Ridesharing companies are permitted in 66 of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties under temporary authority by the Pennsylvania Utilities Commission.
