Atlantic City's average room rates were up 10 percent last year, according to a new report. That comes despite a number of casino closures and declines in visitation.
The average price for a hotel room in Atlantic City was $150 per night, a 10 percent increase from $136, according the latest Hotel Price Index (HPI) by Hotels.com.
The shore town's visitation number was 25.4 million last year, down 5 percent year-over-year, according to data by the South Jersey Transportation Authority and Stockton University. Last year's numbers were down 27 percent from 2005 when 34.9 million came to visit.
