New net neutrality rules may have been adopted by the Federal Communications Commission, but that isn't stopping one group from speaking out against the proposed $45 billion Comcast and Time Warner Cable merger.
The "Stop Mega Comcast Coalition," made up of private companies, public interest groups, labor unions and industry associations, has since December been advocating against the Philadelphia media giant's attempt to acquire Time Warner Cable. Its goal is to lobby the FCC and members of the Congress against the deal.
Led by Jeff Blum of Dish Network, Markhem Erickson of Comptel and John Bergmayer of Public Knowledge, the group held a press call Monday morning, discussing why they think the ruling on net neutrality doesn't lessen "harms" posed by the transaction.
