NJ Drivers Feel Pain at the Pump

Motorists are paying more at the pumps New Jersey.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of regular gasoline hit $2.76 in the Garden State on Friday, a 6-cent hike from a week ago.

A year ago, motorists were paying $1.92 a gallon.

Meanwhile, the national average price rose by 3 cents during the past week to $2.88. It was $2.05 a year ago.

“With the official start of the summer driving season less than four weeks away, motorists are holding their collective breath with the hope that gas prices may not reach the pivotal $3.00 a gallon mark this summer as some analysts believe might be the case,” auto club spokeswoman Tracy E. Noble said.
