A packaging company is opening a northeastern Pennsylvania facility that will bring 400 jobs with it.

The Pocono Record said Milford Township supervisors on Monday approved a conditional use application requested by North American Packaging. The Sussex, N.J.-based company does business under the name Econo-Pak.

Econo-Pak is buying the former Altec Lansing building for an undisclosed amount.

A conditional use application was needed because the company intends to operate 24 hours a day.

The company currently employs about 400 people, who will be offered jobs in the new Pike County facility first.

Econo-Pak plans to move into the Milford building in late November.
