Ka-Ching! Drivers Pay More in Jersey

Toll hikes went into effect December 1, 2008.

Drivers on the Garden State Parkway and New Jersey Turnpike have to pay more now.

New, higher toll rates went into effect, Monday, December 1, 2008.

Parkway drivers who were paying 35 cents for a one-way toll must now pay 50 cents.

On the Turnpike, the toll of $1.20 for an average 22-mile trip increased to $1.70.

Signs and messages were posted and unveiled on both toll roads to remind drivers that they now have to dig deeper.
