Dogfish Head Hopes to Win Approval to Renovate Brewpub

Dogfish Head brewery is hoping for a second chance to win approval to redevelop its flagship brewpub in Rehoboth Beach.

The News Journal reports the beer maker is going before a land-use board Monday night seeking a reconsideration on plans to remodel Dogfish Head Brewings and Eats.

In April, the Board of Adjustment voted 3-1 to deny the brewpub's renovation plans. The board said the new design was too large for the property. At least one board member suggested Dogfish should leave town to expand.

Dogfish officials say they need to renovate the brewpub founded in 1995. Plans call for expanding the building from 8,280 square feet to 9,820 square feet. It would include a courtyard for people waiting for tables but would not expand the restaurant's seating capacity.
