Christie to Sign A.C. Rescue Package

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie heads to Atlantic City Tuesday to sign a rescue package into law.

The bills would create a state-supervised tourism district with enhanced police patrols and sanitation. Another bill would ease regulations of the city's 11 casinos.

Plans call for a multimillion dollar industry-funded marketing campaign to promote the resort.

The package aims to help Atlantic City recover some of the market share and revenue it has been losing since late 2006 when the first of many neighboring slots parlors opened in the Philadelphia suburbs.

Since then, the nation's second-largest gambling market has lost nearly a third of its business.
