Carli Lloyd's three-goal performance that led the U.S. Women’s team to a World Cup championship is expected to make the South Jersey native a popular target for lucrative product endorsement deals and speaking engagements, according to sports marketing experts.
“She was certainly a well-known name in the community before this, but what happened yesterday puts her in a different stratosphere,” said Haynes Hendrickson, president of Turnkey Intelligence, a subsidiary of Turnkey Sports & Entertainment in Haddonfield, N.J.
Prior to the World Cup finals against Japan, Lloyd, who hails from Delran, N.J., scored the gold medal-winning goals in the finals of both the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 2012 Summer Olympics.
