The Valley Forge Casino Resort announced Wednesday that its leader would be stepping down to join the area’s tourism agency – a move his colleagues at the gambling destination support.
Mike Bowman is leaving his position as president and CEO of the King of Prussia, Pa.-based casino-resort to become president of the Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board, where he is currently serving as chairman and interim president. His role is effective June 15.
“This move comes at a critical time with the pope’s visit this summer and the Democratic National Convention coming next year,” said Bob Pickus, chairman of the casino. “We need to ensure we are fully prepared as a region to highlight Montgomery County as a prime convention location and leisure visitor destination. Mike is absolutely the right person to do that.”
