AC Emergency Manager Will Make $135K a Year

The corporate finance lawyer appointed by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie as part of his emergency task force to save Atlantic City will rake in about $135,000 a year.

The Associated Press reports that Kevin Lavin will earn his salary as an employee of New Jersey's Division of Local Government Services.

The salary for his special counsel Kevyn Orr was not disclosed since he is not a department employee. Michael Drewniak, spokesman for the governor, however, said Orr's salary would be made public soon.

Gov. Christie signed an executive order on Jan. 23, appointing Lavin, who has experience helping troubled casinos, and Orr, who helped lead Detroit out of bankruptcy, to lead the task force.

Under the order, the team is expected to produce a plan within 60 days to stabilize the troubled city's finances, according to NJ.com.
