Atlantic City Casino Industry Profits Up 31 Percent in Q1

Atlantic City's casino industry continues to show signs it is on the rise after years of trouble that led to the closures of four casinos in 2014.

The Shore town's remaining eight casinos are, in majority, seeing increased profits in the first quarter of 2016, according to a new report by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.

The casino licensees' total revenue increased 2.7 percent to $802.6 million, while combined sales increased 2.8 percent to $845.2 million for the three months ended March 2016, according to the quarterly results.
