The day after murder suspect Thomas W. Borden threw himself in front of a SEPTA train, we learn his step-brother, Nathan Hand, is arrested for his alleged role in the same murder.

The Sheriff in Schuyler County, New York is holding a news conference at 3 p.m. to release more details. Right now, Hand is in the county jail with no bail.

On Monday, they issued a homicide warrant for Borden. He's accused of killing Daniel K. Bennett in Bennett's Dix, New York home last Thursday night. Bennett was the boyfriend of Borden's ex-wife, according to Bennett's neighbors.

Bucks County also had a warrant out for Borden, 32, on a parole violation.

Montgomery Township police spotted Borden yesterday morning speeding on Route 309. They pursued, but lost him. Jenkintown police spotted his truck in the parking lot of a Jenkintown elementary school less than an hour later. Police put the schools on lockdown.

Shortly before 11 a.m., police again spotted Borden. This time he was on foot, about a mile from where he dumped his pickup. They stopped and asked for his name and he gave them a false name, police say. When they continued to question Borden, he made a run for it onto the nearby SEPTA train tracks between the Noble and Jenkintown stations.

As police were chasing Borden down the tracks, they say he purposely threw himself in front of an oncoming train on the other side of the tracks. Borden survived the immediate impact, but died a short time later at the hospital.
