Rape Investigation Focuses on 2 Temple Football Players

Two unnamed Temple University football players were being investigated for an alleged sexual assault, Philadelphia Special Victims Unit police and university officials confirmed Monday night.

The alleged sexual assault happened at a dorm on the Temple campus around 2:30 Saturday morning, police said.

A female student accepted an invitation to go to the dorm room of the two young men, police said.

Later she was allegedly raped, said cops.

She was treated at Temple Hospital and authorities were waiting for the medical results.

As of Monday night no charges were made in the case.

Reports of the police investigation sent shock waves through the North Philly campus especially since two members of the Owls football team were allegedly at fault. The 8-3 Owls are having one of their best seasons in the history of the school and are seemingly bowl bound for the second-straight season.
