Boy Struck by Bus in Northeast Philly

A boy was struck by a SEPTA bus in Northeast Philadelphia Tuesday afternoon.

The boy was hit by the Route 67 around 3:45 at Oxford Avenue and Somerdale Road, according to SEPTA.

SEPTA officials said it was a 7-year-old boy while Philadelphia Police said the boy was actually 13.

He suffered non-life-threatening bumps and bruises and was alert while being taken to the hospital, officials said.

The boy darted out into the street, cops said.

But the exact details of what led to the boy being in the street weren't clear.

Oxford Avenue was shut down between Somerdale and Frontenac Street.
