Neighbors in Erial, N.J. were just trying to get an alleged speeder to slow down Monday night but wound up getting assaulted in the process, according to Gloucester Township Police.
The driver, 17, got out of his car with a knife and slashed Raymond Aldrich's arm, according to police. And a passenger got out of the silver Saturn and punched another neighbor, police said.
The road rage slashing happened Monday on Sterling Street, a road notorious for speeding.
"You'll see cars flying down the roads, and constantly with so many kids in this neighborhood, it's only a matter of time before someone gets hurt," said Jude Palermo.
"We even yell at people as they come speeding down here, like, 'Slow it down,' you know, 25 or whatever, but it doesn't seem to do no good," said Joe Pietrafesa.
Neighbors say they've petitioned Gloucester Township police to crack down on speeders.
Police told NBC Philadelphia they are concerned about public safety and any road rage incident is something they take seriously.

The teen driver dropped his wallet at the scene before he fled, police said and that made it pretty easy for them to track him down. He was charged with second-degree aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
