Corner Store Stabbing

A South Philadelphia store owner was stabbed in neck inside her corner store this morning.

Philadelphia Police spokeswoman Christine O'Brien told NBC10 that a man entered the Good and Plenty mini market at Snyder Avenue and 12th Street around 10:40 a.m. and demanded money.

The man allegedly stabbed the female owner before making off west on Mercy Street with an unknown amount of money, O'Brien said.

The unidentified store owner was in stable condition at Jefferson University Hospital, police said.

Philadelphia Police roped off the area around the store and investigated the scene into the early afternoon. Investigators could be seen looking at surveillance cameras inside the store. They also recovered a jacket and cigarettes on Mercy Street that could belong to the suspect.
