School Kids Find 2-Year-Old Dead in Car Seat

Two-year-old Tierra Morgan, was found face down in a stream, still strapped in her car seat.

A two-year-old girl missing since Monday was found dead Tuesday afternoon, by a group of school kids.

Tierra Morgan was found face down, in a stream in Shark River Park in Monmouth County, New Jersey.

"She's dead," Tierra's mother, Imani Benton told The Star-Ledger. "The detectives came to my door and told me she was dead in the woods. . .I don't know what I'm going to do," Benton said from the emergency room of a hospital in Toms River.

According to a report in The Asbury Park Press:

"...the group [of school kids] came upon what looked like a hand sticking out of a creek. They took a closer look and saw it was a young child strapped into a car seat, face-down in the creek."

Tierra was last seen on Monday when she was picked up by her father, Arthur Morgan III, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor's office. It was the first visit he'd had with Tierra in a month, according to the report. Morgan never returned his daughter to her mother, according to investigators. An arrest warrant has been issued for Morgan.
