A family-owned and operated city dry cleaner caught fire early Labor Day.

Thick smoke could be seen after flames broke out around 5 a.m. at Award Custom Dry Cleaner along Ridge Avenue near Shurs Lane in Philadelphia’s Roxborough neighborhood.

As NBC10 photojournalist John Panfile arrived, the building was entirely engulfed in flames.

No one was injured, according to Philadelphia Police.

A short time after the fire began, Philadelphia firefighters could be seen pouring water onto the blaze as thick smoke rose into the morning sky. Crews worked to keep the fire from spreading to nearby businesses including Maggiano's auto repair.

Award cleaners has been family owned and operated for more than 45 years, according to the store's website.
