For 2nd-Straight Day Police K-9s Sweep Delaware Schools After Bomb Threats

A day after various schools in multiple states -- including four in Delaware -- were evacuated amid threats, two more First State schools went into lockdown after being threatened Wednesday.

Delaware State Police evacuated East Millsboro Elementary School on Iron Branch Road in Millsboro and Everett Meredith Middle School on Broad Street in Middletown after both schools received threats around 10 a.m., said police.

Police didn't immediately reveal details about the new threats. Four other Delaware schools and at least one Pennsylvania district joined a growing list of schools around the northeastern United States that dealt with threats Tuesday.

On Tuesday, police evacuated Long Neck Elementary School in Millsboro; Silverlake Elementary School in Middletown; and Woodbridge High School in Greenwood so that officers and K-9 units could investigate threats.

None of those searches turned anything up, said police.
