Police Exchange Gunfire With Bank Robbers

Police and three suspects exchanged gunfire after the robbery of a Lehigh County bank Thursday morning.

Three men allegedly robbed the KNBT Bank at 235 Main Street in Emmaus around 9:00 a.m. One of the men pistol-whipped the bank's assistant manager, according to authorities. Police say that the manager's injuries are not life-threatening.

Police quickly arrived at the scene as the suspects made their escape. The robbers reportedly opened fire, prompting police to fire back.

Two of the suspects were arrested while a third escaped. He is considered armed and dangerous.

No officers were reportedly harmed during the shootout.

Streets near the bank have been closed as authorities continue the manhunt.
