Big Rig Hauling Ink Catches Fire, Snarls Pennsylvania Turnpike Traffic

A big rig hauling ink caught fire on the Pennsylvania Turnpike causing hours of traffic troubles.

The tractor-trailer caught fire on eastbound Interstate 276 near the Delaware Valley interchange (milepost 358) in Bucks County around 6:40 a.m. Friday.

Emergency crews rushed to extinguish printer ink that caught fire and caused a lengthy cleanup, said the turnpike.

Around 9:30 a.m., the turnpike warned motorists that roadway remained closed at Interchange 351 (Bensalem).

Drivers could take U.S. Route 1 south to State Route 132 east to U.S. Route 13 north to get back on the turnpike toward New Jersey.

No one suffered life-threatening injuries, said officials.
