Crashed Big Rig Backs Up Traffic for 20 Miles on Pennsylvania Turnpike

An overturned tractor-trailer is causing traffic headaches on the Pennsylvania Turnpike near Reading.

Turnpike officials say the truck is blocking on eastbound lane at mile marker 285. That's about a mile west of the Reading interchange.

But the bottleneck is affecting traffic on the 20-mile stretch between the Lebanon-Lancaster exchange at mile marker 266 and the Reading interchange.

Eastbound motorists were being detoured off the turnpike at the Lebanon-Lancaster exit onto Routes 72, 322 and 222, before re-entering the turnpike at Reading.

The crash was reported about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday. According to the turnpike website, it was still causing delays more than three hours later.
