PennDOT Reopens Route 202

PennDot has reopened Route 202 near the King of Prussia mall after crews finished repairing a sinkhole near the area.

Northbound and Southbound Route 202 were reopened for traffic Saturday afternoon at 5 p.m. between South Gulph Road and Allendale Road in Upper Merion Township.

The section had been closed on Friday due to pavement damage caused by a four to six inch drop of a 70-foot long section of concrete pavement on the north side of the Mall Boulevard intersection.

PennDot removed the damaged concrete, excavated underneath the highway, pumped concrete into the ground to stabilize the area and resurfaced the affected lanes with 10-inch thick asphalt.

They also repaired two cracked utility pipes under Route 202.
