Deadly Harley Crash on I-95

Police shut down a busy area roadway for hours Wednesday after a car rammed into a motorcycle leaving a man dead and a woman charged with a moving violation.

I-95 northbound just after Exit 40 (Burlington-Bristol Bridge -- Pa. Route 413) in Langhorne, Bucks County, Pa, was closed around 9:45 a.m. Wednesday.

Pennsylvania State Police said that Suzanne Skelly, of Palmyra, N.J., was driving her Ford too fast when she rear-ended James Curran's Harley. Police say Curran, 46, had slowed down due to traffic congestion when Skelly, 21, hit him causing the bike to become conjoined with the sedan and causing Curran, who was wearing a helmet, to fall off his bike.

Curran, who hailed from Bensalem, Pa. died from his injuries. Skelly suffered minor injuries, according to investigators. Police charged Skelly with driving too fast for the conditions.

Traffic was diverted onto Route 413 as crews continued to investigate. As of 11 a.m. traffic backed up all the way to Exit 35 (Woodhaven Road). Traffic also slowed down in the southbound direction for a gaper delay.

The two vehicles involved remained on the roadway well after the crash as the investigation continued. By 1:30 p.m. the roadway remained closed.  It wouldn't reopen until around 2:45 p.m.
