Man Set on Fire in Trenton

Man suffers 3rd-degree burns, cops say.

A 44-year-old man was set on fire in East Trenton Tuesday night, Trenton Police said.

The victim, Robert Lee Scott, is known to hang out in the area of East State Street and North Olden Avenue.

Scott was hanging out around that street corner drinking Tuesday night when he passed out, witnesses told police.

Witnesses later saw Scott on fire as three teens ran from the scene, cops said.

Police were trying to figure out if the man lit himself on fire or if someone else was involved.

Scott, who has a history of mental issues, was found with burned tissue paper around his leg, police said.

He was taken to the Helene Fold Trauma Center suffering from third-degree burns to his leg, police said.
