Mystery of Man's Death in Nasty Weather Solved

Medical examiner rules the cause of death as cardiac arrest

A 62-year-old Delaware County man was found dead Tuesday as an electrical storm moved through the area.

David Toy's death was the result of a combination of a heart attack brought on by hypertension and possible lightning nearby, according to the Delaware County Medical Examiner's Office.

Toy was found dead under a tree on the unit block of Citation Lane in Media, Pa. around 6:25 p.m., according to authorities.

There was no evidence of the tree being struck by lightning but there were reports of storms in the area at the time Toy was discovered on his front lawn.

One neighbor claimed they heard a loud boom right around the time when Toy died.
