Heavy Smoke Pours From Philadelphia Homes

Several homes caught fire in North Philadelphia Monday afternoon.

The flames broke out shortly after 2 along Lehigh Avenue near 24th Street.

Firefighters reported no injuries. Crews said it appeared the fire began in an occupied unit before spreading to unoccupied neighboring homes.

Thick smoke could be seen coming from at least three row homes. As firefighters battled flames on top of the roofs, crews blocked off Lehigh Avenue.

It took crews about 30 minutes to bring the flames under control.
