Forest Fire Burns in South Jersey

Smoke could be seen and could be smelled for miles around after a forest fire broke out over the weekend.

The flames began to burn in a remote area off the Black Horse Pike (Route 322) in Hamilton Township, Atlantic County, N.J. Sunday night.

NBC10 reporter Ted Greenberg reported seeing a large plume of black smoke coming up from the fire.

As of Monday morning firefighters weren’t able to bring the blaze, which was contained to about 80 acres of woodland, under control.

No one was evacuated and no injuries were reported, according to officials.
