Robber Stabs Cash for Gold Owner Outside Philadelphia Store: Police

A Philadelphia man was arrested after he allegedly stabbed the owner of a Northeast Philadelphia cash for gold store Monday morning before making off with a large sum of cash.

Joshua Garner of Philadelphia is charged with robbery, aggravated assault, simple assault, theft and receiving stolen property.

Garner is accused of stabbing the 62-year-old owner of the We Buy Gold store in the face. The attack took place outside the store on the 8000 block of Frankford Avenue Monday around 11:15 a.m. Garner then stole $1000 before fleeing in a black GMC truck, police said.

He was later apprehended and arrested Monday night.

The owner was taken to Aria Torresdale Hospital where he is currently in stable condition.
