Store Clerk Shoots Would-Be Robber With His Own Gun

Store clerk manages to wrestle gun away from would-be robber: cops say

Shots rang out during an apparent robbery in quiet Swarthmore, Pa. Thursday afternoon.

Two people were shot around 2:45 after a man attempted to rob the Dollar Magic store at in a strip mall on 725 Chester Road, Springfield Township Police said.

A store clerk and the alleged robber were shot during the incident, police said.

The clerk was able to wrestle the gun away from the suspect and then shot the would-be robber in the groin, cops said.

The clerk was hit in the shoulder, according to police.

The suspect was in critical condition Thursday night while the clerk was in stable condition.

The Dollar Magic and Goodwill Store next door were closed for the day following the incident.
