The body of an unidentified woman was found near the Schuylkill River Monday night in Southwest Philadelphia.
Police say the body washed ashore around 6:30 p.m. on the 6000 block of Passyunk Avenue under the Passyunk Avenue Bridge.
Medics responded to the scene and the woman was pronounced dead at 7 p.m.
Officials are working on determining the woman's identity as well as a cause of death.
