Two teenage men allegedly decked a 65-year-old man from behind in the East Oak Lane section of Philadelphia Wednesday afternoon.
“I’ve never seen a random act of violence such as this,” said Philadelphia Police Sgt. Andrew Kensey.
The vicious beating was caught on surveillance camera after the teens followed the victim for a few blocks, according to Philadelphia Police.
The unidentified victim -- described as an Asian male -- was walking east along the 400 block of Chelten Avenue just after 3 p.m. when the two teens approached him from behind. One of the teens hit the victim in the side of the head with either his fist or an object, cops said.
The two teens turn around and almost immediately run back in the direction they came from.
The victim quickly dropped to the ground -- he was bleeding having had his teeth knocked out. He was taken to Einstein Hospital where he had to have his jaw wired shut, cops said.
“It appears to be a random act of violence we don’t know what the reason or motive was for it but it does appear to be random,” said Kensey.

The alleged attackers are described as medium-built black males between 15 to 17 years old who are about 5-foot-10 tall. One of the suspects was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt while the other had on a blue hoodie.
“We want to get them off the street as soon as we can before they do something else to some other innocent person,” Kensey said.

If you see the suspects do not approach them and call 9-1-1 immediately.
